ABOUT CHRISTINE

I’ve Always Been the Person Who Notices What’s Being Missed

When something isn’t working, I want to understand why.

Not just the obvious answer. Not just the solution someone happens to be selling. I want to know what’s actually happening, what we may be assuming, and whether we’re even trying to solve the right problem.

That curiosity has followed me through nearly every part of my life and work—and eventually became the foundation of Sunward Growth Coaching.

Long Before I Became a Coach, I Was Learning to Look for the Gap

My daughter lost her hearing as an infant. Raising her and advocating for her taught me to pay close attention—not only to what someone was saying, but to what was actually being understood.

I could often tell when something hadn’t landed, even when everyone else assumed it had.

Over the years, that ability to notice what might be missing showed up in other places too.

I became involved in organizations serving families and children, sometimes starting with something as simple as making the coffee and eventually finding myself in leadership. I learned to look at what people needed, what was working, what wasn’t, and what could be done differently.

And I discovered that I liked solving those kinds of problems.

Then Business Gave Me a Whole New Set of Questions

My professional background has taken me through bookkeeping, business operations, and technology. When computers first started making their way into our homes, I wanted to understand what they could do. That curiosity eventually led me into email marketing, online business tools, and technology support.

But there was a problem.

I wasn’t very good at simply being the person behind the scenes who completed the task.

If a client asked me to do something, I wanted to know why.

Where did this fit into the business? What were they trying to accomplish? What was supposed to happen next?

And every once in a while, one of those questions would cause someone to stop and say:

“I never thought about that.”

I began to realize that the questions I was asking might be as valuable as the work I was doing.

I Also Learned That Knowing What to Do Isn’t Always Enough

Eventually, my own business struggles led me in another direction.

I’d learned strategies. I’d learned technology. I’d invested in programs and support. And yet there were still places where I wasn’t getting the results I expected.

That’s what led me into deeper work around mindset, behavior, beliefs, and the patterns that influence our decisions.

And suddenly another piece of the puzzle made sense.

Sometimes the problem really is the business strategy.

Sometimes it’s the systems, technology, or execution.

And sometimes you can know exactly what you’re supposed to do and still find yourself not doing it.

What’s visible on the surface isn’t always where the problem begins.

That realization changed the way I looked at business—and ultimately the kind of work I wanted to do.

Why This Matters to Me

I’ve watched talented people start businesses because they’re very good at what they do—and then discover that being good at the work and knowing how to build a business around that work are two very different things.

Suddenly they’re expected to understand offers, marketing, lead generation, selling, technology, systems, money, and everything else that comes with running a business.

And there’s no shortage of people ready to sell them the answer.

The website expert sees the website.
The social media expert sees social media.
The speaking expert sees speaking.
The sales expert sees sales.

Any one of those things may be exactly what a business needs.

But is it what your business needs right now?

That’s the question I think deserves to come first.

Because the right solution at the wrong time may not be the right next move.

MY MISSION

My mission is to help small business owners create businesses
that work better for them—and lives they have the time, energy,
and freedom to enjoy.

I believe small businesses matter. They support families, serve people, strengthen communities, and allow individuals to take something they’re good at and use it to make a difference for someone else.

I also believe building one isn’t always easy.

You shouldn’t have to pretend it is.

And you shouldn’t have to keep throwing more time, money, and energy at solutions without understanding what you’re actually trying to solve.

Clarity before another solution.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

I’m curious by nature.

I’ll ask questions. Sometimes I’ll ask the question underneath the question.

I’m also practical and gentle in my approach. I’m not interested in telling you there’s only one way to build your business or using fear to convince you that you have to do something.

Instead, we’ll look at what’s actually happening.

I listen for more than the problem you’re describing. I’m listening for assumptions, patterns, missing pieces, and connections that may be influencing what’s happening on the surface.

And because my background crosses business operations, technology, strategy, and mindset, I’m looking at the situation from more than one direction.

Sometimes you’ll need a strategy. Sometimes you’ll need a better way to execute. Sometimes you’ll discover that the thing you’ve been trying to fix isn’t actually the problem.

My job isn’t to have a predetermined answer waiting for you. It’s to help us find the right question.

Curious · Grounded · Cultivating

Those are the three words I use to describe myself.

Curious, because I love learning, exploring ideas, asking questions, and understanding how things work.

Grounded, because as much as I enjoy technology, business, and learning, I need time away from all of it too.

Cultivating, because I love creating and nurturing things—whether that’s an idea, a business, something growing in my garden, or something I’m making in the kitchen.

I don’t believe success should require spending every waking hour working.

I want a business that leaves room for the rest of my life.

And I want that for the people I work with, too.

Experience That Lets Me Look at the Whole Picture

My perspective has been shaped by years of experience across bookkeeping, business operations, technology, entrepreneurship, and coaching—along with extensive training in mindset and behavioral change.

That combination allows me to look at a business from more than one direction. I understand the practical side of running a business, the systems and technology that support it, and the human patterns that influence the decisions we make and the actions we take.

Business & Operations

  • Bookkeeping

  • Small Business Operations

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Organizational Leadership

My experience includes bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping, supporting small business owners, running my own businesses, and leadership roles that required me to organize people, processes, programs, and resources.

Technology & Systems

  • Online Business Technology

  • CRM & Email Marketing

  • Workflow & Systems

  • Digital Implementation

I’ve spent years learning, using, and supporting the technology behind small businesses. I’m naturally curious about how things work—and just as interested in whether a tool or system actually makes sense for the business using it.

Coaching & Human Behavior

  • NLP Master Practitioner

  • Root Cause Coaching Practitioner

  • Quantum Release Master Practitioner

  • Certified Somatic Coach

My coaching and mindset training added another dimension to my work: understanding the beliefs, patterns, internal conflicts, and behaviors that can influence what happens in a business—even when someone knows exactly what they should be doing.

Sometimes Another Set of Eyes Changes What You See

If you’ve been trying to figure out what isn’t working in your business—and you’re no longer sure whether you need another strategy, a better system, a different approach, or something else entirely—let’s look at it together.
